Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer at Figures (remote-first). You will own end-to-end projects, contribute to the company’s product and technical culture, and mentor your team.

Key Missions

• Take responsibility for product development projects, from requirements through maintenance
• Ensure the product can evolve and handle clients with thousands of employees
• Help consolidate and grow Figures’ product and technical culture

Responsibilities

• Make architectural choices and design features
• Ship meaningful improvements end-to-end in a small, high-ownership team
• Turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions
• Align with the company’s engineering operating principles and values
• Communicate proactively in a remote-first environment (written updates, request pairing when stuck)
• Spend time in Paris during onboarding to calibrate working practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering & web development (no upper limit)
• Startup experience
• Fullstack mindset (team of fullstack engineers)
• Strong technical ownership: architecture, feature design, and maintaining what you build
• Comfortable with ambiguity and iterating quickly
• Strong business acumen and ability to leverage tech for impact
• Fluent in French and English (C1)
• Based in France

• Ability to work with clear specifications (broad solution, not fully implemented specs)
• Comfort with making trade-offs instead of only ultra-tested code
• Strong communication and feedback culture (likes PR feedback)

Compensation & Perks

• On-market salary (50th percentile target): €61,600–€78,400
• Above-market equity: 0.26%–0.37% ownership (14% company equity pool)
• Company incentive/profit sharing bonus: up to €3,000 potential
