Senior Software Engineer (FICUS Health)

Role overview

Join Merantix as a Senior Software Engineer (full remote). You’ll work closely with the CTO and product managers to design, build, deploy, and operate frontend and backend applications. A key focus is integrating and refining speech-to-text and large language AI models, with involvement in architecture and infrastructure decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and operate frontend and backend applications
• Integrate and refine speech-to-text solutions and LLMs (managed services and self-hosting)
• Contribute to architecture and infrastructure decision-making
• Help shape team culture and collaborate in an early-stage environment
• Use AI tools for development work (including LLM evals and related analytics)

Requirements

• German proficiency
• Strong communication skills in English
• Senior-level experience with React/Next.js
• Senior-level experience with at least one Python-based backend framework (e.g., Django Rest Framework, FastAPI, Flask)
• Proven experience building successful web applications (frontend + backend)
• Solid knowledge of using, integrating, and deploying speech-to-text models and LLMs (managed + self-hosted)
• Pragmatic, hands-on mindset; willingness to learn and experiment
• Experience working in a highly dynamic early-stage startup
• Product mindset (technology as a means to build great products)

Nice-to-haves

• Solid DevOps/infrastructure knowledge (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS)
• Experience with LLM evals and data analytics/science topics
• Experience with AI-powered UI automation
