About the role

Role Overview

Encamp is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own technical areas end-to-end—from problem framing and system design through rollout and production operations. You’ll lead high-leverage work where product, data, and real-world workflow complexity intersect, taking on end-to-end initiatives across customer-facing product, integrations, and internal platform systems.

Responsibilities

Architect and build systems across customer-facing product, agency integrations, and internal platform surfaces
Work on agent-powered automation and the integrations layer
Lead technical decisions for APIs, data design, workflow modeling, and system reliability
Drive projects through ambiguity while maintaining high quality
Break down ambiguous problems into concrete technical plans and ship
Mentor engineers via pairing, walkthroughs, code reviews, and software design
Improve performance, reliability, and developer experience in owned systems

Requirements

Designed and shipped complex software systems; can reason clearly about tradeoffs
Able to take a high-stakes, ambiguous problem from framing through shipped solution
Production operations experience, with a focus on improving systems over time
Actively adapts workflow to use AI tools while maintaining a high quality bar
Makes other engineers better through strong communication and technical judgment
First-principles reasoning and clear technical communication (not relying on hierarchy)
Humility in technical discussions and honesty about expertise limits

Nice-to-Haves / Signals

TypeScript-heavy stack experience across React/Vite (frontend), GraphQL/Node (backend), Prisma/Postgres (data), and AWS (Lambda/ECS)
Experience setting standards for engineering practices in high-autonomy teams

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $155,000 - $185,000 (annual)
