Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join EasyPost as a Senior Software Engineer to modernize the technology behind USPS shipping. You’ll work on the USPS PC Postage system, refactor legacy services, and build cloud-native solutions that deliver high-performance services at scale.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and optimize high-performance Go services that support USPS shipping for millions of users.
• Refactor legacy systems and migrate/modernize them for the cloud.
• Build new cloud-native services leveraging Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to turn large ideas into a solid architecture.
• Participate in peer reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system reliability.
• Create clear technical documentation and mentor teammates.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience (or equivalent). Master’s degree with 6+ years also acceptable.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to design, code, test, and debug applications.
• Strong backend engineering experience with APIs; front-end framework familiarity (e.g., React or Angular) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Go; additional languages (e.g., Python, C++) are a plus.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling concepts.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design principles.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
