About the role

Role overview

Vanta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Design Systems) to drive complex initiatives for its shared design system. You’ll lead technical direction, improve UI/UX standards, and mentor engineers across the organization to ensure consistent, intuitive, and high-quality customer experiences.

What you’ll do

Build, maintain, and update shared UI components to keep the system consistent across products
Ensure components are bug-free, well tested, and well documented
Provide leadership on UI/UX best practices and standards, raising the bar for design craft
Educate engineers on UX and industry standards, design system guidance, and implementation in code
Support product teams by building new shared patterns or updating guidance when needed
Drive technical direction and make key architecture decisions for the system’s stance and recommendations
Identify, scope, and lead technical projects focused on performance and reliability foundations
Mentor and up-level teammates via code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing

What you’ll bring

5–8+ years industry experience with deep expertise in frontend engineering, design systems, and accessibility
Ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives in fast-paced environments
Strong experience building shared UI components and developer tooling for user-facing outcomes
Proficiency in system design and software architecture, with emphasis on UX and accessibility
Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, component architecture, state management, and frontend performance optimization
Demonstrated leadership through mentoring, technical decisions, and influencing standards
Excellent communication skills and ability to educate and collaborate cross-functionally
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future employer sponsorship
Open to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
