About the role

Role Overview

Join Northbeam as a Senior Software Engineer (Data Systems, Python). You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable data pipelines and products, including high-performance ingestion/transform workflows and secure, tenant-aware APIs.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple sources.
Ensure reliability, observability, and maintainability of data workflows.
Build and maintain APIs for flexible, secure, tenant-aware integrations with external systems.
Collaborate with data engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to create an integration platform that is extensible and easy to onboard new sources.

Requirements

5+ years experience in data engineering, software engineering, or integration engineering, focused on ETL, APIs, and pipeline orchestration.
Experience with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow).
API-based ETL experience using REST, GraphQL, and Webhooks.
Proficiency in SQL and BigQuery.
Strong Python skills.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying/scaling workloads.
Ability to balance rapid delivery with long-term platform stability.
Experience implementing authentication and secure multi-tenant architectures (e.g., OAuth 2.0, API keys, secrets management).

Nice-to-haves / Additional Experience

Exposure to ERP systems, CRMs, CDPs, and their APIs.
Experience with event-driven architectures and/or real-time data processing tools.
Knowledge of data governance and compliance (GDPR, SOC2) and security best practices.
Experience working in multi-tenant SaaS or other large-scale data-intensive environments.
