Senior Software Engineer (Customer Retention)

Role Overview

Join Hims & Hers as a Senior Software Engineer (Customer Retention) in the Customer Retention group. You will design and implement scalable, high-performance full-stack solutions across front-end and back-end systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of scalable, performant full-stack solutions aligned with product requirements and user experience.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architectural decisions and influence platform direction.

Requirements

• Strong web/mobile front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks such as React, React Native, Next.js, and GraphQL.
• Back-end skills: Node.js, Redis, Kotlin.
• Experience delivering and hosting front ends and microservices on Kubernetes and AWS.
• CI/CD experience with unit tests and end-to-end integration tests.
• Relational database experience, PostgreSQL preferred.
• Microservice architecture experience (3+ years).
• Proven ability to build scalable web applications/services, ideally in the cloud.
• Agile delivery experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects without management oversight.
• React Native experience for iOS and Android.
• Deep e-commerce experience (also reflected in distributed backend system design experience).

Nice to Have / Additional Experience Signals

• 3+ years distributed backend system design/development/delivery, preferably in eCommerce.
• 7+ years as a software engineer shipping production code.
