Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

Join Crosslake Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer in a small engineering pod that owns problems end-to-end and ships quickly. You will design and build shared backend services and APIs, define service boundaries and data models, and own the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Design and build shared backend services and APIs used across multiple systems
• Ensure services are scalable, reliable, and reusable
• Own the full SDLC: design, development, testing, deployment, and iteration
• Contribute to domain modeling and system design decisions to improve cohesion and reduce duplication
• Balance speed with long-term maintainability

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong backend and systems design expertise; comfortable operating across the stack when needed
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience designing service-oriented / distributed systems
• Solid understanding of the full SDLC
• Strong hands-on experience using AI coding tools daily, beyond basic code generation
• Ability to leverage AI across the workflow (e.g., prototyping, debugging, test generation, QA, code review, security analysis)
• Experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
• Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform)
• Data modeling with SQL and NoSQL
• API design: REST, GraphQL, and event-driven systems
• Messaging and event patterns (e.g., Kafka, SQS, Event Sourcing, CQRS)
• Observability: logging, metrics, tracing
• Experience with one or more languages: Python, TypeScript, Go, or Rust
• Basic understanding of data engineering principles
