Senior Software Engineer (CRM+ Platform)

Role overview

Senior, hands-on Software Engineer for Virtuous’ CRM+ platform, powering fundraising and donor engagement for nonprofits. You’ll work across product, design, and engineering to deliver innovation and customer value, bringing a product-engineer mindset and strong AI-forward approach.

Key missions

• Build and maintain CRM+ platform features using C# / .NET and SQL Server
• Collaborate with Product and Design to shape requirements and provide a customer-oriented technical perspective
• Mentor and pair-program with other engineers to elevate engineering practices

Responsibilities (implied)

• Understand the "why" behind work and influence product direction with high ownership within your squad
• Own projects end-to-end (design → deployment → monitoring)
• Contribute to customer discovery conversations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and occasional customer demos

Requirements

• Deep expertise in C# / .NET with 5+ years professional software engineering experience
• Strong SQL Server experience: schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
• Production systems on Azure
• 3+ years with Vue (React/Angular experience transfers)
• Strong cross-functional communication with Product, Design, and Customer Success
• Experience with CI/CD and frequent deployment cadence (multiple times per week)
• Customer-first, product-minded engineering approach and ability to give/receive candid feedback

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Datadog and Playwright (observability and testing)
• Experience with CRM or other data-intensive platforms
• Hands-on AI-assisted development, including using Claude Code
• Proven high-growth SaaS experience
