Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Cozero, you will help shape and build a core product domain within a carbon accounting platform. You’ll work on data-intensive backend systems that ingest, validate, and process large volumes of data, collaborating closely with engineers on architecture and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of a central product domain, including architecture decision-making.
• Design and build data validation and processing capabilities so customers can trust the numbers they see.
• Take end-to-end ownership in production: deployment support, monitoring, and incident response.
• Deliver features in fast iterations, aiming to ship small and often.
• Debug issues across layers, tracing problems end-to-end.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with data-intensive backend systems in B2B SaaS.
• Strong technical communication: write clear technical documentation other engineers actually use.
• DevOps mindset and ownership from design through release, monitoring, and maintainability.
• Strong backend skills in TypeScript/Node.js, with NestJS (or similar).
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and comfort navigating a React frontend when needed.
• Strong focus on data correctness (validation, idempotency, edge cases).
• Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, SQS, and Aurora.

Nice to have

• Experience with data ingestion pipelines or analytics tooling (e.g., Cube.js, Snowflake).
• Exposure to climate tech, sustainability, or compliance-grade data systems.
• Startup experience (Series A/B stage).
• Experience improving or incrementally modernizing legacy systems.
