Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems & Integrations

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer to lead development of core platform capabilities for Omada’s connected care experience. You will build reliable backend systems that integrate, validate, and serve high-volume health data, enabling real-time, clinically meaningful insights.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services and platform capabilities supporting large-scale, data-rich applications.
• Own projects end-to-end (technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing reliability).
• Build systems to ingest, process, and serve high-volume health data.
• Lead initiatives to improve data reliability, observability, and end-to-end performance.
• Drive architecture decisions for third-party API and data source integrations.
• Improve resilience and data quality to ensure correctness in clinically relevant workflows.
• Mentor engineers and elevate standards via design reviews, testing practices, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to roadmap planning; break down ambiguous problems into actionable engineering work.
• Partner with product, clinical, and data science teams to translate complex healthcare needs into robust solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend focus.
• Proficiency with modern backend frameworks: Ruby on Rails and/or Python.
• Experience with relational databases: PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience designing/operating distributed systems with high reliability and data integrity requirements.
• Experience with data pipelines, event-driven architectures, or real-time processing.
• Strong emphasis on reliability, testing, and documentation.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical partners; ability to translate business/clinical needs into technical plans.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Bonus Points

• Experience in healthcare systems, medical devices, or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, FDA).
• Familiarity with device integrations (e.g., CGMs, wearables, remote monitoring).
• Experience improving data quality, validation, or reconciliation pipelines.
• Experience building multi-team platforms/infrastructure systems.
• Experience with AWS and modern CI/CD practices.
