Senior Software Engineer, Connector Infra

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer for Connector Infrastructure at Atlassian. You will build and improve backend services and integrations that power core customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver creative improvements for engineering teams.
• Build and evolve REST APIs using computer science and engineering principles.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to assess feasibility of designs.
• Configure monitoring for backend services and build CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop integrations with Atlassian’s content management system.
• Build reliable features and services with a focus on reliability.
• Perform platform integrations using REST.
• Work with Git and server technologies to design and develop applications supporting Atlassian products and platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, or related field, plus 5+ years of progressive related experience.
• 5+ years with software systems and infrastructure, including:
  • Database design and performance tuning for large-scale databases
  • Building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure
  • Platform integrations using REST
  • Git and server technologies including NPM, Docker, NGINX, and Express/Node
  • SQL databases for customer-service use cases
  • Programming languages such as Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or Scala

Nice to Haves

• Experience spanning multiple programming languages in the Java/Python/Kotlin/Go/Scala family.
• Strong background in backend service reliability and observability (monitoring).

Work Location / Schedule

• Atlassian supports flexible work (office/home/hybrid) and states: 100% telecommuting permitted.
• 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Compensation

• United States base pay ranges (by pay zone):
  • Zone A: $180,000 – $235,000
  • Zone B: $162,000 – $211,500
  • Zone C: $149,400 – $195,050
• May also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
