Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack, cloud + web)

Join Cohere Health’s engineering team to build and enhance mission-critical healthcare software for clinical letter generation, notification systems, and queue management used by health insurance plans covering 15M+ people. You’ll partner with product, design, and clinical teams to deliver end-to-end features on a modern full-stack platform.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy end-to-end features across cloud infrastructure and web applications
• Own the full software development lifecycle: technical design → production deployment → monitoring
• Collaborate with product, design, and clinical operations to deliver high-quality experiences for healthcare practitioners
• Work across the platform stack:
  • Backend: database design and backend services (Java, Python, Groovy)
  • Frontend: web applications (React, TypeScript)
• Lead technical design discussions using data-driven analysis to inform architecture decisions
• Evaluate and implement new technologies/services to improve development efficiency
• Drive quality by writing comprehensive tests and maintaining high code standards
• Mentor and support junior engineers to build a culture of learning and technical excellence

What you’ll need

• 6+ years of software development experience across the SDLC
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/software engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong backend experience with Java, Python, or Groovy
• Experience building web applications with React and JavaScript
• Proficiency with modern development practices:
  • Git
  • unit testing
  • CI/CD pipelines
• Strong collaboration skills with product and design teams
• Ability to own product development end-to-end with excellent design and development standards
• Enjoys fast-paced startup environments and collaborative Agile teams

Salary

• $128,000 – $145,000 annually (range estimate per applicable law)
