Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Platform)

Role Overview

Join SeatGeek as a Senior Platform Engineer on the Cloud Platform team. You will design, build, and operate shared cloud, compute, and networking platforms that enable SeatGeek’s engineering teams to ship safely and confidently.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate shared cloud and networking platforms for containerized, service-oriented architectures.
• Improve reliability, observability, security, and scalability through automation, standards, and strong abstractions.
• Operate production systems, including:
  • Supporting releases
  • Participating in an on-call rotation
  • Contributing to incident response and follow-up
• Partner with application and platform teams to evolve shared infrastructure tooling, APIs, and standards.

Requirements

• Familiarity with observability practices and tools (e.g., Datadog) using metrics, logs, and traces.
• Ability to write and maintain automation/tooling in Go, Python, or Bash with emphasis on clarity, safety, and maintainability.
• Experience collaborating cross-team and translating broad needs into practical technical solutions.
• Experience designing/building/operating cloud and infrastructure platforms that support other engineers/teams.
• Hands-on experience running production workloads on Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience with service networking/routing such as service discovery, traffic management, or edge routing using tools like Cilium, Envoy, Kong, or Fastly.
• Hands-on experience on AWS, including infrastructure design/operations with Terraform or similar IaC.
• Commitment to knowledge sharing, documentation, and mentorship.
