Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Office Security)

Role Overview

Join Material Security as a Senior Software Engineer on the Cloud Office Security team. In this remote-first role, you’ll work end-to-end on the Google Drive and OAuth surfaces, integrating agentic workflows to help security teams investigate and remediate risks faster.

Key Missions

• Design and ship agentic automated workflows that detect, investigate, and remediate security risks in customer environments.
• Integrate deeply with Google Workspace APIs, building reliable pipelines that handle real data at large scale.
• Collaborate with product and design to ship high-impact features for customers.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack features (backend-first, with frontend contributions when needed).
• Design and ship automated workflow systems.
• Integrate and operate third-party APIs at scale, handling rate limits, retries, idempotency, and imperfect data.
• Contribute to polished product experiences and make pragmatic UX trade-offs with design partners.

Requirements

• Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals; ability to design and operate systems integrating with third-party APIs.
• Comfort working across the stack, including contributing to the frontend with TypeScript/React when required.
• Experience or strong interest in LLM-powered agent systems in production, including prompt design, tool use, and evaluation.
• High technical maturity, ownership, and low supervision coding practices.
• Product sense: care about user experience and UX trade-offs with design.

Nice-to-Haves

• Demonstrated experience building agentic/LLM workflows in real production environments.
