About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Cinapse - a Wrapbook Company) Remote (USA / Canada). You’ll be a high-ownership technical contributor building flagship scheduling features for film and TV production teams, working closely with the Founder and Lead Engineer.

Responsibilities

Build and improve core scheduling features used by AD teams on major productions
Deliver offline-first functionality for production use on-set and in remote locations (non-negotiable)
Develop and iterate on flagship capabilities, including:
- Stripboard management
- Multi-unit scheduling
- Real-time collaboration
- Reporting
- PDF import/export
Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability for a production-critical SaaS platform
Build integrations with Wrapbook’s broader payroll and production finance ecosystem

Requirements

Strong TypeScript and React expertise (e.g., custom hooks, generics, discriminated unions, component composition)
Proven experience building offline-first / offline-capable PWAs (core architecture)
Experience with modern state management such as Zustand or Jotai (not just Redux)
Next.js 15, Prisma, and PostgreSQL
Ability to design data structures for indexing, ordering, and merging domain entities
Ability to learn and absorb complex production scheduling domain logic
Comfortable integrating AI tools into engineering workflow (e.g., Cursor, Claude)
Able to thrive in a fast-moving small team with high autonomy

Nice to Have

Experience with local-first sync frameworks (PowerSync, Replicache, ElectricSQL) or real-time sync models (last-write-wins, presence, conflict resolution)
Background in production software, scheduling tools, or media/entertainment tech
Experience with file parsing and import/export pipelines (PDF generation, XML/CSV parsing, document transformation)
tRPC or end-to-end typesafe APIs
UI component library customization (Mantine UI, Radix, etc.)
Testing experience with modern frameworks (Vitest, Jest, Playwright)
