About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer on the Capture team at Pindrop. You will build and evolve systems that ingest and process real-time and recorded communication data (audio/video) from telephony and meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet). The goal is to prepare media streams for downstream analysis and enable new capabilities within the Pindrop identity trust platform.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems for real-time and recorded audio/video ingestion and processing.
Build and evolve low-latency, scalable media pipelines optimized for performance and reliability.
Provide technical leadership: code reviews, architecture decisions, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers.
Contribute to distributed systems architecture for high-throughput media ingestion and processing (scalability, fault tolerance, maintainability).
Define patterns for real-time and asynchronous media workflows.
Analyze complex technical problems and recommend improvements/optimizations.
Champion testing and quality practices: unit, integration, and automated testing.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback for code quality and consistency.
Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to improve engineering practices.
Ensure compliance with security standards and address vulnerabilities and risks.

Requirements

Experience with real-time communication systems, including VoIP/SIP/RTP/WebRTC.
Experience with audio/video processing pipelines, codecs, or streaming technologies.
Experience building and operating microservices and REST/gRPC APIs.
Familiarity with observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and debugging distributed systems.
Experience with security best practices and cloud compliance requirements.
Hands-on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK) and DevOps practices.
CI/CD experience with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
Experience managing applications in Kubernetes.
