Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at CaptivateIQ, you’ll lead the technical roadmap for complex AI projects and make key architectural decisions. You’ll work across the full stack, mentor teammates, and help define best practices for the company’s greenfield AI platform.

Key Missions

• Define and own the technical roadmap for complex AI platform initiatives and drive semi-annual/annual milestones.
• Architect and implement production-grade LLM orchestration systems, including:
  • agent frameworks
  • tool calling
  • multi-step reasoning workflows
• Lead technical design for cross-functional AI features, making trade-offs under ambiguity and communicating them clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI features to enterprise customers.
• Mentor engineers and raise team technical practices.
• Influence team-level outcomes through direct engineering leadership.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience with LLM APIs and building orchestration systems (agent workflows, tool calling, multi-step reasoning).
• Proven ability to make decisions under ambiguity and communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Strong frontend skills with React and TypeScript, including complex state management.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with progression into technical leadership.
• Deep proficiency in Python with production backend architecture (Django strongly preferred).
• Experience designing and implementing MCP integrations, including:
  • tool servers
  • embedding models
  • context management strategies.
• Track record defining technical roadmaps and leading projects from concept through delivery.
• Curiosity and continuous learning in the fast-evolving AI/LLM space.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with sales performance, commissions, or financial software domains.
• Contributions to AI/ML open-source or technical publications.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, SDKs, or shared AI/ML infrastructure.
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent.
• Expertise in agent architectures (multi-agent systems, tool use, planning algorithms, memory systems).
• Experience with prompt optimization, evaluation frameworks, and LLM observability tools (e.g., LangSmith, Weights & Biases).
• Experience at B2B SaaS companies scaling from Series B to growth stage.
