Senior Software Engineer, Browser Extension

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer for the Keeper Browser Extension team, responsible for building and improving browser extension features used by millions of users. The position is 100% remote and emphasizes reliability, security, and test quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable, secure features for the browser extension using JavaScript, React, Redux, and Jest.
• Partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver strong user experiences.
• Uphold coding quality standards, including test-driven development (TDD), writing unit tests with Jest, and participating in code reviews.
• Continuously improve performance, reliability, and security of the extension.
• Maintain and refactor an existing codebase: fix bugs, implement features, and address scalability/maintainability.
• Stay current on web development, browser extension, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, refactoring, and reducing technical debt.

Requirements

• 5+ years of JavaScript development with strong core JS knowledge.
• 3+ years with React, Redux, Jest, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience building browser extensions, including cross-browser compatibility and browser API challenges.
• Experience with modern web tooling/workflows, including Webpack, Git, and CI/CD.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture: component-based development, state management, and UI/UX principles.
• Experience with Jest and writing unit/integration tests.
• Ability to maintain and improve a large codebase.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote environment.
