Senior Software Engineer - Backend Systems

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer, Backend Systems (Remote - U.S. Only). Help build scalable, high-performance backend infrastructure powering PriceSenz’s core platform. You will design and develop high-throughput APIs and backend services, partnering with the Software Architect and engineering team to support product launches and critical deployments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Software Architect to design, develop, and maintain core API services and backend daemon infrastructure.
• Build high-performance asynchronous APIs using REST, gRPC, WebSockets, and real-time telemetry streaming.
• Develop scalable backend services for:
  • job orchestration
  • user quota management
  • complex multi-tenant operations
• Optimize applications for memory efficiency (memory allocation strategies, pooling, profiling, and garbage collection).
• Design and enforce secure multi-tenant isolation for reliable resource separation across customer environments.
• Maintain infrastructure stability during high-demand operational periods and support product launches.
• Implement software security best practices to protect data integrity, privacy, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and backend services.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen (required) with no visa sponsorship (H-1B, OPT, CPT, TN, etc.); no C2C/third-party agencies.
• 7+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Expert-level Python proficiency.
• Strong experience building asynchronous, high-concurrency backend services.
• Deep understanding of memory-efficient application design (profiling, allocation optimization, reducing memory footprint).
• Distributed systems and network communication protocol expertise:
  • REST APIs, gRPC, WebSockets
• Experience deploying with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work across multiple languages and ramp up quickly.
• Strong problem-solving and distributed systems troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C++, Go, or Rust.
• Experience working in polyglot software architectures.
