Senior Software Engineer - Backend Systems

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer, Backend Systems (Remote — U.S. Only). PriceSenz is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and build scalable, high-throughput infrastructure powering its core platform.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Software Architect to design, develop, and maintain core API services and backend daemon infrastructure
• Build high-performance asynchronous APIs using:
  • REST, gRPC, WebSockets, and real-time telemetry streaming
• Develop scalable backend services for job orchestration, user quota management, and complex multi-tenant operations
• Optimize for memory efficiency (memory allocation, pooling, profiling, and garbage collection techniques)
• Design and enforce secure multi-tenant isolation for reliable resource separation
• Support product launches and ensure infrastructure stability during high-demand deployments
• Apply software security best practices across the development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and backend services

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen required; no visa sponsorship and no C2C/third-party agencies
• 7+ years professional backend development experience
• Expert-level proficiency in Python
• Strong experience with asynchronous, high-concurrency backend services
• Deep knowledge of memory-efficient application design (profiling, allocation optimization, reducing memory footprint)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and network communication protocols (REST, gRPC, WebSockets)
• Experience deploying with Docker and Kubernetes
• Ability to develop across multiple languages and learn new technologies quickly
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for distributed environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with one or more: C++, Go, Rust
• Experience in polyglot software architectures
