About the role
Role Overview
Senior Software Engineer (Backend Systems) to design and build scalable, high-performance backend infrastructure for PriceSenz’s core platform. You will partner with the Software Architect to deliver reliable, mission-critical services and support key product launches.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Software Architect to design, develop, and maintain core API services and backend daemon infrastructure
- Build high-performance asynchronous APIs using REST, gRPC, WebSockets, and real-time telemetry streaming
- Develop scalable backend services for job orchestration, user quota management, and multi-tenant operations
- Optimize memory efficiency using memory allocation strategies, pooling, profiling, and garbage collection techniques
- Design and enforce secure multi-tenant isolation for resource separation across customer environments
- Ensure infrastructure stability during high-demand operational periods and during product launches
- Apply software security best practices to protect data integrity, privacy, and compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and backend services
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen (required); no visa sponsorship
- 7+ years of professional backend software development experience
- Expert-level proficiency in Python
- Strong experience building asynchronous, high-concurrency backend services
- Deep expertise in memory-efficient application development (profiling, allocation optimization, reducing memory footprint)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and network communication protocols: REST APIs, gRPC, WebSockets
- Experience deploying with Docker and Kubernetes
- Ability to develop across multiple programming languages and learn new technologies quickly
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in distributed environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C++, Go, or Rust
- Experience in polyglot software architectures
