Role overview

As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend / Python) at Cara Care, you will design, develop, and operate scalable backend software components. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features, improve the platform, and drive technical excellence with a focus on architecture, code quality, and healthcare security/compliance.

Key missions

Design, develop, and operate scalable software components across the stack, from backend APIs to patient-facing applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore, define, and deliver new product features and improve the current platform
Drive technical excellence across architecture, code quality, and security/compliance with healthcare regulations

Requirements

Backend engineering strength with modern languages; stack includes Python, Django
5+ years professional software engineering experience (ideally backend)
Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and the Kubernetes ecosystem
Strong Linux system administration skills (self-hosting; securing bare Linux cloud instances)
Solid relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Basic monitoring/observability familiarity (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana is a plus)
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (or other major cloud providers like AWS/Azure)
Understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture
Curiosity and pragmatism; drive continuous improvement

Nice-to-haves

GitOps experience with ArgoCD or FluxCD
Ansible (or similar) config management
Basic networking knowledge
Experience in product-centric teams and working with non-technical stakeholders
Bonus: experience in regulated industries / healthcare / security-conscious environments
