Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Backend) based in the United States. You will build scalable backend services and cloud-based solutions that power mission-critical business operations, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and applications.
• Own end-to-end delivery of new product features from concept through production release and continuous improvement.
• Participate across the full development lifecycle: solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Evaluate architectural approaches, provide implementation estimates, and recommend scalable solutions for enhancements.
• Ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability through strong code quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering excellence and best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend focus.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with Java and SQL relational databases (e.g., MySQL).
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable backend services.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
• Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous situations; ability to deliver practical, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a product-focused mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and contribute to technical leadership initiatives.
