Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Role overview

Join Dashdoc as a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) and help evolve the company’s product in the road freight optimization space. You’ll work on a product-focused backend stack and deliver improvements from concept to completion.

Key missions

• Refine and simplify the data model to align with product changes.
• Implement new APIs to build powerful features and enhance the product.
• Write decision records and technical documentation to support team scaling.
• Establish and improve engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Improve the backend architecture and data structures to support evolving product needs.
• Deliver clean, maintainable code and continuously reduce complexity.
• Ensure technical decisions are well documented and communicated.
• Contribute to a fast-moving team with strong execution.

Requirements

• Strong product sense and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Autonomy to develop features end-to-end (from conception to completion).
• Commitment to clean code and simplifying existing codebases.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing.
• Good knowledge of SQL and SQL optimization.
• Spoken/written English mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience with a complex SaaS platform or a social network.
• Django experience.
• Experience with large-scale databases (1TB+ scale).
• Ambition to help transform the industry.
