Role overview
Join Reddit’s Quality Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer (Android Test Engineering). You will design and develop tools, test frameworks, and processes to improve product quality across engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Conceive and develop test tools, frameworks, and quality processes.
- Analyze production issues to identify test gaps and implement systemic improvements.
- Influence the engineering organization on testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Maintain test infrastructure stability and improve the reliability of automated testing.
Requirements
- English working proficiency with strong verbal and written communication.
- 3+ years of Android development.
- Experience with unit, snapshot, and end-to-end testing for Android applications.
- Experience building test frameworks and automated tests for native mobile applications.
- 5+ years as an SDET or as a Software Engineer on the Android platform.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies for mobile application releases.
- Experience writing/executing/monitoring automated test suites using Kotlin with Espresso and/or UIAutomator.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and quality checks in the workflow.
Nice-to-haves
- Preferred experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Experience designing scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and services for mobile testing.
