About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer on Amplify’s Learning Experience team. You’ll build and ship software that supports K-12 education products, collaborating with cross-functional partners while integrating AI capabilities into the platform.

Key Missions

Contribute to high-impact projects across the full lifecycle from ideation to production deployment.
Design and implement AI model integration, building AI-powered tools that support teachers.
Develop TypeScript code for front-end and back-end components, including automated tests and related tooling.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features for students and educators.
Design and implement AI integrations in the platform.
Review code from other engineers and ensure quality through best practices.
Ensure software meets educational needs and product requirements.

Requirements

Passion for education products and improving equity and accessibility.
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
3+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong software design and modern engineering practices.
Experience deploying production systems in the cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Server-side development experience (e.g., Node.js).
Frontend framework experience (2+ years with a modern framework such as React).
Database experience (e.g., MongoDB).
Ability to communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing.
Proficiency with automated testing and testing frameworks such as Jest and WebdriverIO.

Nice to Have

Experience with education or ed-tech.
Experience with the specific stack/languages and frameworks: TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Nx, React, ESBuild.
Experience integrating modern AI technologies (e.g., Large Language Models, Model Context Protocol, Automatic Speech Recognition, Computer Vision).
Experience managing cloud infrastructure and observability with tools such as AWS, Datadog, Terraform, and Docker.
