About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Amplify (full remote), you will build intuitive, responsive applications that directly support classroom experiences and educational outcomes.

Key Missions

Develop and maintain intuitive, responsive apps impacting classroom workflows.
Mentor junior engineers and drive technical decision-making.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and education experts.
Ensure the platform maintains high standards for performance, reliability, and security.

Requirements

3+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong problem-solving ability with experience in complex systems and large codebases.
Understanding of modern backend web technologies and modern software engineering practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and continue self-driven learning.
Strong communication skills for articulating technical concepts.
Education/degree: BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent).

Testing & Cloud/Infrastructure

Automated testing experience, including Jest and WebdriverIO.
Cloud infrastructure experience with tools such as AWS AppSync, Lambdas, Datadog, Terraform, and Docker.
Data stores experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.

Frontend

2+ years experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.
Languages/frameworks: React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, RESTful APIs.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience in education / ed-tech.
Passion for building education products that are more equitable and accessible.
