Role overview

Join Affirm as a Senior Software Engineer on the Consumer Growth Experience Engineering (CGX) team. You’ll own quarterly goals, guide engineers through ambiguity, and ensure your team has the support needed to deliver high-impact consumer journeys.

Responsibilities

Own and deliver the team’s quarterly goals; lead engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
Partner with Product Management, Design, and Analytics across the product development lifecycle (including ideation and articulating technical constraints).
Proactively identify and drive resolution for issues spanning project, process, technology, or business.
Support operations and availability of your team’s artifacts.
Build a culture of quality and ownership; develop talent on your team.

Requirements

Strong ownership mindset; proactively seek feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a global engineering team.
Experience defining a technical plan for delivering significant features/components with an elegant, simple, and extensible design.
High-quality engineering: write code that others can easily understand and use.
Backend experience at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
4+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience/Bachelor’s degree).
Experience making significant changes in large codebases, with tools/practices for safe delivery.
Experience with experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation for mobile applications.
Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), including architecture, cross-functional launches, and high production reliability.
Experience across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues.
Experience improving developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile apps.
Experience shipping web apps using React or Vue.
