About the role

Role Overview

Join Aerospike as a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build next-generation platform services for a multi-cloud SaaS offering. You’ll write production-grade, secure, maintainable, and fast code while partnering with product managers, architects, QA, and other developers.

Responsibilities

Design and build core backend systems for the company’s multi-cloud SaaS platform.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and developers to execute against a strategic roadmap.
Optimize backend services for performance and scalability.
Champion code quality and test coverage, including building automated tests.
Develop and maintain distributed services that support multi-tenancy and autoscaling.

Requirements

Strong foundation in computer science and algorithms.
Proficiency in one or more statically typed backend languages: Go, Kotlin, Java, or Scala (role strongly indicates Go).
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipeline engines.
Experience with public cloud providers: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Experience building, deploying, and maintaining distributed services using containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, GKE).
Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and encryption techniques/standards.
Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, including data storage, replication, data modeling, and data access patterns.
Experience with NoSQL database development.

Nice-to-haves / Preferred

Experience with the Kubernetes Operator pattern.
Experience with Terraform and Ansible (and other DevOps technologies).
Experience with workflow/orchestration tools such as ArgoCD and Temporal.
