Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join Abridge as a Senior Software Engineer on a centralized Platform team. You’ll build and support infrastructure, developer experience, and site reliability capabilities that help the engineering organization scale rapidly.

Key Missions

• Build & release automation: Design and implement build pipelines, branching strategies, and release management tooling.
• Observability platform: Build scalable observability with logs, metrics, and distributed tracing, plus dashboards using golden metrics and error budgets.
• Application testing pipelines: Advocate for, design, implement, and adopt fast and scalable testing pipelines, including:
  • end-to-end UI tests
  • hyperscale load tests

Profile / Requirements

• 2+ years as a backend engineer focused on system performance and scalability.
• Experience building with backend languages such as Python, Go, Node.js, or Rust.
• Comfortable implementing and securing services on Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code, including:
  • GCP projects
  • VPC networks
  • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • IAM roles, groups, and policies
  • (Alternative: candidates without GCP but with strong Kubernetes experience are encouraged.)
• Monitoring distributed systems with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry Collector, and Grafana (or similar), including:
  • metrics collection and visualization
  • alerting
  • using observability data for performance optimizations
• Strong interest in engineering enablement and solving distributed systems scaling challenges under pressure.
• Demonstrated experience reducing latency through observability and profiling.
• 8+ years software engineering experience focused on distributed systems or tooling, with interest in enablement and scaling.
• Experience building and scaling on Kubernetes, including related cloud-native tools such as ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, and Istio.

Nice to Have

• Deep experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling (e.g., ArgoCD/Argo Rollouts/Istio).
