Role Overview

Join Abridge’s Product Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer. You’ll help scale and mature the business by building and supporting web applications, their backends, and the cloud services that power them.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and support robust cloud-based services for the business
Write primarily in TypeScript and React
Make architectural decisions and recommend technologies
Ensure systems scale reliably and securely with strong attention to security, privacy, and quality
Research commercial and open-source solutions and recommend build vs. buy approaches
Ship and support AI-powered features, using AI tooling as part of everyday workflow

Requirements

5+ years experience building, shipping, and operating cloud-based distributed systems at scale
Proven experience making decisions grounded in real outcomes (what works and what didn’t)
AI tooling is used daily, with judgment on when to trust vs. verify
Several years building software for a regulated environment and understanding compliance tradeoffs (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
Experience as a lead engineer for major components/subsystems or ownership of key platform areas
Familiarity with event pipelines and experience with Kinesis or Kafka
Willingness to pitch in wherever needed in a fast-moving startup
