Senior Software Development Engineer, iOS

Role overview

Senior Software Development Engineer (iOS) on Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team. You’ll work on the Ford App, a customer-facing iOS application used by millions of customers worldwide, releasing shippable improvements early and often in an agile environment.

What you’ll do

• Develop iOS app software from conception through production for large-scale customers and vehicles.
• Participate in reviews and provide engineering-focused feedback on product designs and architectures.
• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies.
• Write and contribute to high-quality software documentation.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, and other technical experts.

What you’ll have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent education and experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on native iOS software engineering.
• 5+ years of Swift and iOS app development ecosystem experience.
• 3+ years of mobile frontend application architecture experience, including:
  • Modular application design
  • State management
  • Navigation strategies

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Strong testing mindset and experience in agile delivery.
• Experience shipping production-grade software/services.
• Strong cross-functional communication and ability to influence peers.
• Experience with CI/CD and software operations practices (DevOps/SRE/Observability/Support & Maintenance), including debugging, tracing production issues, and performance/load testing.
• Strong SwiftUI UI design experience.
• Fastlane (CI) and scripting skills; Ruby for scripting.
• Architecture experience with common Apple patterns (e.g., MVVM/MVC) and working knowledge of The Composable Architecture (TCA).
