Senior Software Developer (Cision, Software Engineer, AMER, Canada)

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Developer at Cision, you will partner with product, design, and data science teams to build and enhance applications using AI intent within a spec-driven development framework. You’ll act as a technical expert orchestrating AI agents to generate production-ready code and automated tests, while helping teams adopt AI-native best practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, and data science to develop and enhance applications, managing AI intent via spec-driven development.
• Orchestrate AI agents to generate production-ready code and automated tests, including multi-LLM workflows for code verification/quality assurance.
• Recommend best practices for AI-native workflows, ensuring maintainability, security, and performance.
• Work with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to meet product objectives and refine specifications.
• Maintain a Test First approach.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and foster a collaborative culture built on trust and respect.

• SQL
• RESTful web services
• Git and experience with GitHub Copilot Agent Mode and AI-driven debugging
• Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-native coding in VS Code
• React (front-end framework)
• Messaging & queuing
• .NET 6+ with C#
• Unit Testing
• MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Kubernetes
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field (or related business field) plus 6+ years of IT/solution delivery experience (or equivalent education/experience).

Nice to Have

• Experience translating specs into production code with AI agents and verification workflows.
