Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Storage Platform) | 100% Remote | W2 Only

Role Overview

Senior Site Reliability Engineer for the Storage Platform, working 100% remotely on a contract-to-hire (W2 only) basis. You will help operate and improve mission-critical storage and Kubernetes infrastructure in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux in 24x7 production environments
• Support and evolve storage systems using SDS solutions and enable storage migrations from legacy systems
• Work with multiple storage types: block, file, and object storage (including Fibre Channel and IP-based protocols)
• Operate and integrate storage and compute fabrics using protocols such as NVMe-oF and iSCSI
• Build automation and repeatable operations using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, and technical documentation
• Maintain reliability by collaborating with teams and ensuring proper integrations (e.g., DNS with Kubernetes)

Requirements

• 6+ years managing enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux
• Hands-on experience with SDS solutions such as Ceph and/or Longhorn
• Experience with storage migrations from legacy systems
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS)
• Proficiency with IaC tools: Ansible and Terraform
• Strong scripting: Python and Bash (Go/Golang is a plus)
• Strong working knowledge of Enterprise DNS and integrations with Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with KVM/hypervisors (e.g., SUSE Harvester, OpenStack)
• Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks
• Ability to write technical documentation and contribute to knowledge bases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent professional experience

Nice to Have

• OpenStack Cinder multi-backend administration
• Backup platforms such as Rubrik
• Knowledge of CIS/NIST security and infrastructure lifecycle management
• ITIL certifications (Foundation/advanced)
• Background in telco, edge cloud, or large enterprise environments
• Kubernetes/Storage certifications (e.g., CKA, CKS, or Red Hat Ceph Storage Admin)
