Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

Paxos is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to shape and scale the cloud infrastructure powering its platform. You’ll partner with engineering teams to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and performant, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available infrastructure primarily on AWS
• Manage and evolve Kubernetes environments for modern containerized applications
• Define and implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CDK, or Crossplane
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring to reduce manual effort and improve reliability
• Apply best practices for security, observability, and cost optimization
• Manage and optimize databases, with focus on Amazon RDS and Aurora
• Lead incident response support: investigate, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical production systems
• Contribute to SRE best practices, internal tooling, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles
• Strong public cloud expertise, especially AWS, including hands-on experience with EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration (production workload operations, cluster management, scaling, troubleshooting)
• Extensive experience with IaC (Terraform / Pulumi / Crossplane)
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, Bash, or Go for automation
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging with a systems-thinking mindset
• Strong communication skills in collaborative, remote-first teams

• Working knowledge of managed databases such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, or PostgreSQL
