Role overview

Calendly is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, build, maintain, and operate its next-generation infrastructure platform. You’ll empower application engineering teams through reliability practices, automation, observability, and resilient infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Build tools and applications that extend Calendly’s infrastructure platform
  • Evaluate and deploy cloud-native open-source tools
  • Apply cloud infrastructure patterns to ensure reliability and scalability
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code for resilient infrastructure
  • Maintain and improve observability; provide patterns for application teams to consume
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support the infrastructure platform
  • Define standard practices and tooling for new services, changes, incidents, postmortems, and capacity management, and help teams adopt them
  • Communicate recurring patterns and improvements to automate tasks, improve stability, and raise performance

Requirements

  • Strong Linux operating system fundamentals
  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, and reliability practices
  • Extensive experience designing, building, and operating highly available production infrastructure
  • Solid Golang or Python experience, including writing APIs to build/orchestrate/manage cloud infrastructure
  • Strong Kubernetes cloud-native design knowledge (e.g., Controllers and Operators)
  • Robust networking principles and extensive cloud networking experience for scalable and secure environments
  • Extensive monitoring experience with tools such as Datadog
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States (no immigration sponsorship)

  • Evidence of mentoring others and fostering a collaborative learning environment
