Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Attain Finance. You will drive reliability and operational excellence across the systems used to build, ship, and run software, with a hands-on focus in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the delivery platform across AWS and Kubernetes tooling.
• Own production problems: investigate root cause, fix issues, and harden systems to prevent recurrence.
• Respond to incidents and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Standardize build and deployment workflows using reproducible container builds and GitOps with ArgoCD and Helm.
• Consolidate and improve CI by standardizing pipelines across GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, reducing brittleness and improving visibility.
• Enable platform adoption with golden-path templates and tooling.
• Use progressive delivery (e.g., canary and blue/green via Argo Rollouts) with automated rollback.
• Improve observability: implement golden-signal metrics/logs/traces using Prometheus/Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry, surfaced in Grafana with SLOs.
• Operate production systems: troubleshoot failed deploys, respond to alerts, and improve behavior from real incidents; support on-call.
• Design for safe promotion and recovery across dev/test/prod, including zero-downtime upgrades.
• Raise the team standard with reference implementations for build/deploy/GitOps/promotion gates/observability.
• Maintain compliance and traceability (PCI DSS, SOC 2, SOX, GLBA), including segregation of duties.
• Reduce toil and cost via automation (EKS compute tuning, CI runner tuning, observability cardinality tuning).
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Cloud, Security, Application Engineering, Data, Product) and document learnings to avoid knowledge silos.

Requirements

• Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform, Python.
• Deep hands-on production experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including operating/debugging EKS and working with:
  • ECS, EC2, ECR
  • IAM/IRSA
  • VPC networking
  • ALB/NLB
  • CloudWatch
  • Secrets Manager
  • KMS
• Strong incident response and troubleshooting skills.

Nice-to-haves (implied)

• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana stack and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Tempo, etc.).
• Experience with progressive delivery (Argo Rollouts) and automated rollback strategies.
