Role overview

Senior Security Operations Engineer I — Security Operations Team at Samsara. You will monitor and respond to security events, serve as Incident Commander for security incidents, and lead digital forensic investigations in support of Employee Relations, Legal, Compliance, or Information Security cases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and perform technical analysis on alerts
• Lead information security incidents and employee investigations
  • Develop incident response strategy
  • Drive execution through incident closure
  • Provide incident updates to key stakeholders
• Deliver clear security guidance for incident response and insider threat initiatives
• Coordinate the building of services, capabilities, integrations, and implementations that support security operations, incident response, and insider threat
• Contribute to runbooks and automated workflows; support process refinement and implementation
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and key stakeholders across security initiatives

Requirements (minimum)

• 5+ years of experience in Security Incident Response
• Strong communication skills to present investigative findings and strategies to technical teams, executive leadership, and legal
• Ability to build scripts/tools to support investigation processes, with proficiency in Python
• Ability to mentor and train security operations engineers
