About the role
Role Overview
Senior Security Engineer (MSP or MSSP) for a remote USA position at Echelon Risk + Cyber. You will implement and enforce security programs for multiple client environments, lead technical security implementations, and help build secure solutions across cloud, SaaS, endpoints, and networks.
Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and compliance programs aligned with industry standards.
- Conduct security assessments, audits, and ensure adherence to security standards.
- Design and implement secure cloud solutions using Azure and AWS.
- Use CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management) technologies.
- Secure SaaS platforms (email, file sharing, and third-party applications).
- Configure and manage security controls for servers and endpoints, including endpoint protection solutions.
- Implement and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) security policies.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and automated penetration testing; create remediation plans for findings.
- Implement and manage IAM, including SSO and PAM (privileged access management), plus user provisioning and access controls.
- Lead data protection services implementations, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Support disaster recovery planning, including backups, redundancy/replication, and regular recovery tests.
- Perform security reviews, assessments, and hardening across endpoints, servers, network infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Apply security configuration benchmarks (e.g., CIS, NIST).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement and manage SIEM systems.
- Deploy and maintain MDR (Managed Detection & Response), IDS/IPS.
- Configure network security policies for perimeter and internal infrastructure (firewalls, wireless access points).
- Support incident response planning: tabletop exercises and incident response playbooks.
- Assist with security awareness training program implementation.
- Partner with clients to understand needs and deliver tailored security solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, CEH, CISM, etc.
- Experience working in managed IT/security services (MSP/MSSP) across multiple client environments.
- Strong understanding of security technologies and frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving/analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FFIEC, SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CMMC, HI.
