Senior Security Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Security Engineer to secure systems, applications, and infrastructure for a developer-focused platform used by thousands of developers. The role owns key security areas and helps build scalable security processes, tools, and practices in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end vulnerability management (continuous testing and improvement) for APIs, authentication systems, and access controls
• Build automation and tooling to proactively detect, prevent, and remediate security issues across applications and infrastructure
• Partner with engineers to elevate secure coding practices and integrate security into the development lifecycle
• Support security initiatives including compliance, certifications, and coordination with external security researchers
• Define and enforce platform-wide security policies and standards
• Mentor team members on security best practices and incident response procedures

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on experience in application, product, or infrastructure security
• Strong fundamentals: authentication, access control, and cryptography
• Experience with cloud environments and modern security testing (e.g., penetration testing, vulnerability scanning)
• Ability to read, understand, and secure modern codebases across multiple languages/frameworks
• Strong problem-solving, ownership mindset, and ability to work independently in a remote-first environment

Bonus

• Experience securing developer tools, open-source projects, or infrastructure platforms
• Contributions to security research, open-source security tools, or bug bounty programs
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security certifications
