About the role
Role overview
Senior Security Engineer (Blue Team) responsible for strengthening and scaling a modern security program. You will protect critical systems by leading assessments, improving threat detection, responding to incidents, and building automation to increase operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments of third-party vendors, applications, and external partners; evaluate security maturity and risks.
- Design, develop, and maintain internal security tools, automation, and scripts.
- Lead and support incident response: investigate, contain, remediate, and document security incidents.
- Enhance endpoint protection by implementing and optimizing EDR, application control, and threat detection capabilities.
- Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks in cloud environments, with a focus on AWS.
- Improve security processes, monitoring capabilities, and defensive technologies; promote security best practices.
- Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a Security Engineer or comparable cybersecurity role.
- Hands-on experience with third-party security assessments and vendor/application security reviews.
- Strong programming experience, preferably Rust, Python, PHP, or similar languages for security tooling and automation.
- Experience securing macOS environments and cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Experience participating in incident response, threat investigation, and security operations.
- Solid understanding of endpoint security, EDR, and threat detection methodologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience using databases during investigations.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with identity and access management solutions such as Okta or CrowdStrike Falcon.
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary: $130,000–$185,000 (depending on experience, location, and qualifications)
