About the role

Role Overview

Senior Scrum Master (Remote, United States)

You will serve as a servant leader and coach for agile teams, ensuring Scrum principles are understood and consistently applied to deliver high-quality software efficiently across the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Coach teams in self-management and cross-functionality to build high-performing agile teams
  • Identify, escalate, and remove impediments blocking team progress
  • Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a prioritized, actionable, well-groomed backlog
  • Support the Product Owner in communicating product vision, goals, and priorities
  • Track team performance metrics and champion continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, accountability, and trust
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to align agile practices across teams
  • Protect teams from external distractions and unplanned work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master or in an agile delivery role in an IT/software environment
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and agile methodologies
  • Scrum certification preferred (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with scaled agile frameworks (e.g., LeSS)
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Background in software development or product management
  • Experience working with distributed/hybrid teams

Location & Travel

  • Fully remote within the U.S.
  • Up to 10% travel for onsite collaboration, supplier visits, compliance audits, or conferences
