Role Overview

Senior Scrum Master (Remote, United States)

You will serve as a servant leader and coach for agile teams, ensuring Scrum principles are understood and consistently applied to deliver high-quality software efficiently across the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Coach teams in self-management and cross-functionality to build high-performing agile teams
Identify, escalate, and remove impediments blocking team progress
Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a prioritized, actionable, well-groomed backlog
Support the Product Owner in communicating product vision, goals, and priorities
Track team performance metrics and champion continuous improvement
Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, accountability, and trust
Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to align agile practices across teams
Protect teams from external distractions and unplanned work

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years as a Scrum Master or in an agile delivery role in an IT/software environment
Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and agile methodologies
Scrum certification preferred (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent)
Hands-on experience with agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills
Proven ability to coach and mentor teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with scaled agile frameworks (e.g., LeSS)
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Background in software development or product management
Experience working with distributed/hybrid teams

Location & Travel

Fully remote within the U.S.
Up to 10% travel for onsite collaboration, supplier visits, compliance audits, or conferences
