About the role

Role Overview

BD is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to lead and coordinate large, business-critical initiatives. You will guide agile teams and drive delivery using Scrum and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), while managing risks, dependencies, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach multiple agile teams on scrum best practices and SAFe practices
  • Own and drive agile/scrum ceremonies
  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies proactively
  • Enable team cooperation, self-organization, and growth
  • Act as a primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support Product Managers/Product Owners with goal definition and backlog management
  • Advocate continuous improvement using metrics and data-driven insights
  • Simultaneously drive projects and programs aligned to organizational goals

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related IT/Technical field
  • 5–7 years of experience in Agile software development in roles such as Scrum Master, Technical Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar
  • Proficiency with Agile project tools such as Jira, Rally, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience managing dependencies and risks in large-scale Agile environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts, cycle time) and how to use them to improve team performance

Preferred Skills

  • Scrum Master and/or SAFe certification
  • Experience developing software for medical devices or other regulated fields
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and software compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management and Agile Release Trains (ARTs)

Location / Work Model

  • Based in Alabama, United States
  • On-site collaboration required: typically minimum 4 days in-office per week (remote/field arrangements may differ).
