Role Overview
Senior Sales Engineer at Glia, supporting complex, technical enterprise sales across banks and credit unions. You’ll act as the senior technical expert and trusted advisor from first engagement through deal closure, combining deep technical skills with strategic problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Lead and resolve complex technical challenges independently, using teams and managers as partners.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on API data integrations and the Glia product suite.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to proactively reduce sales risks and minimize impact on outcomes.
- Delegate and plan: integrate technical needs into project planning and select appropriate project management approaches.
- Navigate and resolve client issues, collaborating across departments and managing communication across stakeholders at financial institutions.
- Present complex technical information clearly in executive-level meetings aligned to business objectives.
- Maintain deep understanding of financial services and customer service industry trends, contributing insights to strategic discussions.
- Build and maintain deep, personalized customer relationships to advance business goals.
- Mentor peers and share knowledge using the team’s case studies and stories.
Requirements (Must Have)
- 5+ years in pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering/architecture, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
- Hands-on coding ability (not only theoretical aptitude).
- Ability to build/modify working examples in JavaScript and HTML/CSS, and clearly explain decisions.
- Proven experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations including authentication, payloads, retries, error handling, and debugging.
- Track record of creating real technical artifacts such as serverless functions, lightweight backend services, automation scripts, or integration applets for enterprise sales.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes, guiding technical and non-technical stakeholders through tradeoffs (security, time-to-value, maintainability, UX).
