Role Overview

Senior SAFe Business Analyst / Product Owner (Sr. BA/PO)

• Contract: 12 months to start, with potential extension
• Work model: 100% remote (occasional travel 3–4 times/year for PI Planning and testing/go-live support)
• Join an enterprise digital transformation program transitioning to a SAFe / Scaled Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Product Manager to translate requirements to the development team.
• Elicit, refine, and document functional requirements as epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Organize and facilitate meetings with business, design, development teams, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and update requirements and backlog artifacts in Azure DevOps Services/ALM (ADO).
• Support business analysis including "As Is / To Be" process mapping and interface mapping/documentation.
• Provide input into functional testing of system modifications.
• Ensure traceability (requirements ↔ test cases), and support UAT activities, including defect/root-cause linking as needed.
• Support release readiness by ensuring delivered work aligns to agreed features and capabilities.
• Assist with training documentation and business-facing product details.
• Contribute to internal control and client service/support improvements.
• Provide RFP support (high-level requirements gathering, mapping flows, demos).
• Support business case development (business analysis / feasibility studies) related to technology initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.
• Required: Experience with Azure DevOps Services/ALM (ADO) for backlog and collaboration (company uses ADO instead of Jira).
• Ability to work effectively in a somewhat unstructured environment, handling both "as-is" and "to-be" requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience as a Business Analyst / Product Owner supporting digital transformation or enterprise programs.
• Experience supporting testing, UAT traceability, and release readiness activities.
