About the role

Role Overview

Join Abnormal AI as a Senior Revenue Accountant and play a key role in the revenue close process. You’ll prepare and review audit-ready reconciliations, workpapers, journal entries, and analyses, with meaningful ownership in a high-growth SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

Own key areas of the revenue close process, including:
- preparation and review of audit-ready reconciliations
- workpapers, journal entries, and analyses
Lead assigned revenue close deliverables ensuring work is accurate, timely, and aligned with policies and controls
Identify and drive process improvements by streamlining close activities through:
- standardization
- automation
- AI-enabled workflows

Requirements

Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to identify issues, evaluate root causes, and implement solutions with limited oversight
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including experience applying revenue recognition guidance
Experience in one of the following:
- Big Four public accounting firm
- high-growth pre-IPO company
- publicly traded technology company
4+ years of progressive accounting, audit, or related finance experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, lookups, analysis of large datasets)
Experience with ERP/billing/close-management systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Maxio, or FloQast

Nice to Have

Experience applying ASC 606 and ASC 340-40 in SaaS revenue accounting
CPA license (or active progress toward CPA)
Demonstrated experience owning or leading recurring close activities and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment
Interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve accounting processes
