About the role

Role Overview

Senior Research Manager in the NIQ Consumer Behavior and Insights team (boutique, consultative arm of NielsenIQ). The role is remote within the US and focuses on custom, quantitative research to help Fortune 500 brands answer complex business questions and uncover consumer decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Client leadership & consulting support

    • Proactively manage day-to-day client communications and ensure high-quality delivery.
    • Guide project workstreams, balancing multiple priorities while aligning to client business objectives.
    • Ground strategic discussions in data; surface actionable insights.
    • Represent the research team in presentations and client meetings, explaining methodological rigor and business relevance.
    • Help resolve project issues to maintain timelines and delivery standards.
  • Survey design & quantitative methodology

    • Design survey instruments aligned to business questions.
    • Recommend sampling, respondent targeting, and data collection approaches to ensure data quality.
    • Apply advanced quantitative techniques such as MaxDiff, TURF, and segmentation.
    • Oversee survey programming/testing with attention to logic, flow, and user experience.
  • Analytics & storytelling

    • Develop analytic plans and manage data processing workflows with internal partners.
    • Lead initial analysis of complex datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and meaningful narratives.
    • Synthesize findings into clear, business-focused insights and recommendations.
    • Create high-impact deliverables (e.g., decks and reports) that influence client decisions.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to connect primary research with contextual datasets.
  • Team leadership & collaboration

    • Mentor junior team members with feedback and best practices.
    • Support seamless execution by coordinating with operations teams.

Requirements

  • Strong grounding in quantitative research methodology and survey design.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and turn results into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting consulting-style work with clients, including presenting findings.
  • Ability to manage projects end-to-end (kickoff to delivery), ensuring quality and client expectations.

  • Hands-on experience with advanced quantitative techniques such as:
    • MaxDiff
    • TURF
    • Segmentation
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and driving operational excellence across projects.
