Senior Recruiter (Applied Science, Machine Learning & Data Science Recruiting)

Role Overview

Salesforce is hiring a Senior Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruiting for Applied Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, and Data Scientist roles supporting its AI and research organizations.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for Applied Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, and Data Scientist positions.
• Partner with senior engineering and research leaders to shape hiring strategy and define ideal candidate profiles.
• Build and maintain high-quality, research-grade talent pipelines, including proactive market mapping and outreach to passive candidates.
• Lead complex offer negotiations across base, equity (RSUs), and sign-on, leveraging competitive market intelligence.
• Provide consultative, data-informed recruiting insights to hiring managers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience with a strong focus on Applied Science, Machine Learning, and/or Data Science roles.
• Deep fluency in ML/AI concepts to conduct credible discussions covering LLMs, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and model development pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit across the Applied Science/ML spectrum (e.g., ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists, MLOps Engineers).
• Experience recruiting in highly competitive, hard-to-fill talent markets (e.g., top tech/FAANG+ environments).
• Strong ability to navigate compensation discussions, including competing offer dynamics.
• Track record of proactive pipeline building for frontier AI/applied research talent.
• Experience operating in large, matrixed organizations requiring influence without direct authority.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience recruiting for frontier AI organizations or research labs (e.g., FAIR, Google Brain/DeepMind, OpenAI).
• Familiarity with AI/ML academic pipelines and graduate recruiting from top research universities (e.g., MIT, Stanford, CMU, Berkeley, UW).
