Senior React.js Developer

Role Overview

Senior React.js Developer (Remote, long-term contract)

Design and build user interfaces in JavaScript/React for actuarial tools. Work closely with business partners to understand needs, address process bottlenecks, and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead UI development with strong UI development and UX design expertise.
• Build, document, review, and maintain components for complex projects.
• Identify and resolve performance issues when displaying large datasets; propose and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical assistance to resolve them.
• Partner with team members on moderate-to-complex projects.
• Create test plans (conditions and data); participate in module/integration testing and track/resolution of moderate defects.
• Produce enhanced technical documentation and implement changes.
• Develop code for intermediate-to-complex modules with high-level architecture while following development standards.
• Ensure design/code reviews are scheduled and executed; provide feedback and verify quality standards.
• Communicate designs clearly using Mural.
• Use experience and judgment to make decisions with partial information; anticipate issues and develop preventive measures.
• Coach less experienced employees; create materials to help non-technical/executive stakeholders understand technical topics.

Requirements

• React.js (JavaScript/React UI development).
• JSON.
• MongoDB.
• Actuarial / Actuary insurance knowledge (Mescius mentioned).

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in UI/UX for data-heavy applications.
• Experience delivering tactical solutions quickly (implementation within a few days).
